Cheers shugs81 i'm using ZBrush as it's alot more intuitive than other 3d apps, really starting to like the hard-surface tools that you could only really achieve before in Maya or Max. The ploycount is still pretty high but i'm gonna retop it if i get the time. If not, i'll just use decimation master then polypaint.
lol I was exactly the same as the interface is confusing at first. Stick with it and just try and learn the basics, you'll learn new tricks as you go. I only use about 40% of ZBrush's tools. Try and learn to use Dynamesh (makes a mesh with bad topology workable), Subtools (different pieces, look at it like layers in PS), Brushes (for adding different forms quickly eg: clay brush, standard brush, inflate brush, move brush and Damien standard) and Alphas (easily apply pattern and textures like rust, cracks, bolts, rivets etc using the drag rectangle). As I said stick with it and HAVE FUN, you'll be glad you did. PEACE
Thanx, the character is a Reaper husk gone rogue, I decided on a Reaper because it allows more room for experimentation as Reaper designs are so varied. If the character was N7 etc affiliated I would've stuck to the original aesthetic but wanted to try something different.
